libanais.

[LEBANON] The nurses of the mission SOS Chrétiens d’Orient in
Beirut.
Each year, 70 000 babies born in Lebanon, 12% are premature. The
medical support of a premature baby is very expensive and not accessible for
everyone. The Lebanese association Assameh Birth and Beyond decided to help the
affected families by renovating the Hospital La Karantina in the north of
Beyrouth and by installing a pediatric and neonatology service.
Since September 2016, three French nurses of the mission SOS
Chrétiens d’Orient in Lebanon work in these services, next to the Lebanese
staff. Aliénor, Marine and Domitille are volunteering for nearly three months
now. Recently graduated in France, they are transmitting their knowledge to the
local nurses.
It is a difficult job, that requires a good mental health but
the beauty of the experience and the willingness to help the Christians of the
Middle East is bigger.
During the Lebanese war in the 1970’s, the hospital served as a
prison. It still has traces now. It is in this post-conflict environment that
the volunteers of the mission SOS Chrétiens d’Orient have to work, while
respecting the country and Lebanese people.

musical event in August at the garden of the hospital and took in charge
a stand at the Faraya Mzaar summer festival where 10,000 people passed to visit
and donate.
All of this couldn’t happen without
the devotion of Pr. Robert Sacy, our fully committed task force of volunteers , our donors , our
sponsors, a dedicated team of doctors,
nurses and staff members .
We are looking forward to receive
and treat more than 1200 babies , increase contributions from private sectors
and individuals through direct donations or further events and projects ; Our Children deserve the right of birth ,
